Where is the West End?

The West End of Portsmouth is a loosely defined section of town beginning from the edge of downtown at Middle and Maplewood Streets heading west. Bordered by Middle Street and the Route 1 By-Pass, the West End's main thoroughfare is Islington St. which runs from the edge of downtown and across the Route 1 By-Pass to eventually merge with Route 33.

Our Mission

The West End Business Association exists to provide a forum for business owners and residents to network and share ideas and resources; to act as liaison between the West End and the City of Portsmouth; and to promote the emergence of the West End as a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly commercial and residential area that welcomes the arts, sustains a diverse mix of businesses and retains the unique identity of the West End.

Who's Involved?

We got our start as a small group of business owners in the summer of 2005 and have since expanded our database to nearly 100 members. Any and all business owners and employees, residents and patrons of the West End are welcome in our meetings, our contact list and at our events. We know big changes are in store for the City of Portsmouth in the next 15 years and want to ensure that the residents and business owners of the West End have an impact on that change. We are proud of the history and community of the West End and are dedicated to preserving it and keeping Portsmouth's West End a great place to live and work.

WEBA Meetings

Join West End's local business owners and representatives as we plan and discuss what’s happening on this side of town! These meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 8:00am at White Heron Tea.
