Islington Street Update – Severino and the City of
Portsmouth are wrapping up the final touches of the Islington Corridor
project this week. Temporary paving and clean-up will be completed
before the end of the week.
The project will resume in March/April of 2020, weather dependent. The
crews will resume the deep dig work from Aldrich to 1Bypass. When that
work is complete (ETA mid-Summer 2020), they’ll return to the Bartlett
Street intersection to install a new traffic light and make some repairs
to the intersection before finishing the dig work from Bartlett to
Albany/Columbia Street.
The project will be completed with final paving, landscaping, and
install of new street lamps to match those in downtown Portsmouth.
