WEBA Meeting Minutes 4/9/19

Islington Corridor Improvement Project: The City will be holding the preconstrction meeting for the Islington Street reconstruction project on Thursday, April 25th, at 6:30 PM in the Levenson Room at the Portsmouth Public Library. All members of the public are invited to attend. City staff, along with the contractor, Severino Trucking, will be in attendance to discuss the project, the schedule, traffic control, and impacts during the project. Work on the project is expected to commence the first week in May.

For any additional information or questions, please feel free to contact Parking and Transportation Engineer Eric Eby at 603-766-1415 or ebeby@cityofportsmouth.com.

SIS Rebrand:Sanford Institute for Savings hasn’t been sold! It’s just undergoing a rebrand to Partners Bank this summer that commences July 1st.

New Hampshire Theatre Project Open House: Does the West End Studio Theatre really connect to an underground canal? What does the future hold for WEST and NHTP? Join them for an open house (and get a tour of the canal) this Saturday, April 13th from 2-4 pm.

West End Residential Parking: Continues to be an issue. City Council members don’t think the proposed test plan will get enough votes to pass, but we all agree that more discussion needs to happen so we can find a solution that meets the needs of all of the residents and businesses of our district. The proposed test study has 30 days remaining to get 75% of the required signatures.

WESTIVAL: It sounds early, but this is when we start planning for Westival 2019. Please come to the May 2019 meeting with your ideas on venue, structure, and how your business would like to participate.

Last year, the Rotary was interested in hosting a 5k from the event. We’d love to collaborate with our Rotary connections.

We’re thinking City Councillors in a dunk tank….so bring your awesome carni ideas next month!
